Red Alert...

November 25, 2012

The red colour visible in the wings of the Schalow's Turaco (Tauraco schalowi) is actually caused by a pigment. A red primary feather from a Turaco dipped into water will actually turn the liquid pink.

Zambezi River somewhere above the Victoria Falls, Zambia.

Nikon D3. 120-300 f2.8mm.

ISO 250. f3.5 @ 1/4000 Sec.
