Not always Black and White…

This was perhaps one of the fiercest battles that I have ever witnessed in the animal kingdom. Two Zebra stallions (Equus burchellii) were fighting for over three hours without any sign of resolution. Biting, kicking, bloody and injured, the zebras eventually disappeared out of sight. Was the battle for family? Territory? Hierarchy? It’s not always black and white in the world of Zebra conflict.
